Make Your Own Mummy
Follow the directions on the website (or one similar) to create a model of a mummy. Write clear step-by-step instructions about the mummification process to display with your mummy model. You may include models of the Canopic jars used to preserve internal organs. The title of this project is a link to the website.

Making Papyrus
Follow the directions on the website (or one similar) and make your own papyrus sheets. Be ready to set up your marketplace station to share the process of papyrus-making with your classmates. Include a written report explaining the entire process and information/or examples of how papyrus was used by the ancient Egyptians (accounting, edicts, legends, etc). The title of this project is the link to a website that explains how to make papyrus.
Model of a Pyramid
Create a 3-dimensional cut-out model of a pyramid. All the parts of the pyramid must be presented, including the burial chamber with a replica of a sarcophagus. Write a one-page description of how pyramids were built in ancient times, and describe the purpose of all the parts of the pyramid.
Simple Machines Replicas
Make replica models of three (3) of the six simple machines used by ancient civilizations - inclined plane, lever, wedge, screw, wheel & axle, and pulley. Your products must be working replicas (capable of doing work), with movable parts. Write a one paragraph summary of how each works and for what each of the machines was used by the ancient Egyptians (three paragraphs total). Be ready to demonstrate your project to your classmates.
