You are required to complete 4 points for full credit. You may combine one of these activities with other 2 and 3 point projects. You may not complete only 1-point projects.
Two Letters Home
Suppose you are Howard Carter, the archeologist who discovered the tomb of the pharaoh Tutankhamen. Write 2 letters home following the friendly-letter format in your Writer's Notebook (pages 12-13). Click here for more details.
Timeline
Create a timeline of a specific dynasty (1st to 31st) or a specific time period (Old Kingdom, Middle Kingdom, New Kingdom) of ancient Egyptian history. Include of details pertinent to your choice of dynasty or time period. Graphics are required.
Kingdom Map
Draw a page-sized map of Egypt representing the size of the kingdom during the Old Kingdom, Middle Kingdom, or New Kingdom. The title on the map should be the period of time you chose to draw. Label all the important cities, including the capital, and all the bodies of whatever. Use color and include a compass rose.
Diary
Pretend you are one of the workers in a pyramid project. Write 5 days of diary entries describing to your family describing your day, thoughts and feelings. This must be written in first person and you must follow the friendly letter format in your Writer’s Notebook (pages 12-13). Use ink and your best handwriting for this project.
